Support prisoners with a donation
Every day, thousands of Britons suffer in appalling conditions in overseas prisons. This is unbearable for the people who endure them, and it’s intolerable for everyone who believes that prison should reform inmates rather than brutalise them.
Some prison regimes are truly inhumane. People are starving, seriously ill, and fight to cope with the pressure of their surroundings. We exist to help the people who have no access to any other support. They really need your help too. Will you give a donation to help them?
Many prisoners suffer severely from the effects of isolation, boredom, and being cut-off from their family.
£10 could pay for a package of newspapers and a magazine for an isolated prisoner, along with freepost envelopes to help them keep in touch with family back home.
In some prisons, the diet provided is little more than a bowl of rice and a cup of dirty water each day.
£50 could help a prisoner buy enough decent food and clean water to last for six weeks; helping to combat malnutrition and illness.
In some prisons, life-threatening illnesses go untreated and people die because they cannot afford to pay for the treatment they need.
£200 could pay for life-saving medical treatment for someone in a prison that provides few free medical facilities to its inmates.
A larger gift could make a very significant impact on the future of our work:
£1,000 could fund all of the grants and services needed by someone serving the final year of their
sentence in a developing country, and help them to find housing and work on their return home.
£5,000 could fund the direct costs of our work with families for a whole year including keeping
prisoners and their families in touch by post and liaising with prisons and judicial administrations
to arrange visits.
£25,000 could provide food and other essentials to help ensure the survival of all of the prisoners
held in the harshest conditions in a developing country for ten years.
You can help people who have nowhere else to turn by giving a gift today.
