How you can help | Donating magazine subscriptions and books

Our Magazine Scheme is much appreciated by our clients. We send them a variety of publications such as the Reader's Digest, The Economist, When Saturday Comes and New Musical Express. We are able to provide our clients with what may be their only opportunity to read something that they enjoy in English.

This is only possible because of the generous donations from some publishers and from supporters who take out subscriptions for our clients. You can donate a magazine subscription starting from £25 a year. Clients receive a number of different magazines issues, however we are particularly keen to get copies of the following magazines:

New Internationalist
Spectator
New Statesman
Economist
World Today
NME
Blues and Soul

We also send out a variety of books in English to individual prisoners. This helps to alleviate the boredom and isolation of being the only English speaking person in a foreign prison. You can send us or bring in books, which we can send to clients. Please note that we can only accept paperback books, and that we cannot help you with the cost of sending the books to us.

For further information please contact Iris on 020 7561 6820 or email iris@prisonersabroad.org.uk.

" Thank you very much for the books which I received today. You have sent me exactly the kind of books which I would have chosen myself and I am very grateful to you for this! Thank you again for all your help and care.. "
