Translators

Could you help translate documents for our clients? If you are a qualified translator we’d love to hear from you.

We work with prisoners in over 80 countries and sometimes need help to translate documents, such as correspondence with a local lawyer or prison authorities. We do not, however, ask volunteers to work on documents which form part of the legal process.

If you would like to join our small team of volunteer translators please do let us know.

In particular we need help translating from Thai (Royal or standard), Turkish and Japanese to English (or vice versa). But other languages are often needed too.

If you think you might occasionally be able to help us with translation, or have any questions, please contact the Prisoner & Family Support Team on 020 7561 6820 or info@prisonersabroad.org.uk, or simply download and complete our translators registration form.

We also ask you to complete a confidentiality agreement due to the sensitivity of the work and the issues we are dealing with.

Please return completed forms to info@prisonersabroad.org.uk. Thank you for your help.
