Prisoners Abroad Art award winners announced The judging has taken place for the 2010 Prisoners Abroad Award for Overseas Art, part of the Koestler Awards. We’re delighted to announce that this year’s winner is Paul Denham, for his cartoon “Darkness at Noon”. Paul has had previous success in this competition, as one of his paintings was displayed at the Koestler exhibition in London last year, but this is the first time he has won the top award. Many congratulations Paul. One of the judges this year was David, who won last year’s award. David will soon be working with a poetry mentor, provided for him by the Koestler Trust.

Our congratulations also go to James and Morgan, who won second and third prizes respectively. You’ll be able to see the winning entries in our next newsletter, published in early August.

This year’s exhibition will take place between 29th September and 14th November at the Royal Festival Hall, part of London’s Southbank Centre. We encourage everyone to visit it – it will be open to the public and entry is free of charge.
