Artwork by two prisoners abroad to be exhibited in London Paintings by two Britons imprisoned overseas are to be shown at a major London art exhibition. The paintings will be displayed as part of the Koestler Trust’s ‘Art by Offenders’ show at the Royal Festival Hall from 21 October.

The Koestler Awards are for people held in British prisons, people in secure units, and other detainees in the UK, as well as Britons who are imprisoned abroad. Almost 6,000 works were entered this year, with art from around 150 entrants selected for this exhibition. One of the Brits abroad who will have his work shown is Paul. His painting, ‘Shooting’ depicts a traditional English countryside scene, and is not his first success in the Koestler Awards. Last year he was awarded second prize in the category for Britons held overseas for his painting of a young boy with a conker.

The other successful Briton is Caroline, whose painting ‘Boy Blue’ won the Silver prize in this year’s award for overseas art.

Both pictures can be seen at the exhibition, which runs until 6 December.
