How you can help | Becoming a pen-pal

Our penpal scheme is a vital part of combating the isolation felt by prisoners. Wherever possible, we try to match penpals with similar interests. Our clients range in age from 18 - 70 with most people in their 30s or 40s. The vast majority are male. If you are interested in becoming a pen-pal please register by filling in an application form.

The prisoners below are looking for a pen-pal. If you would like to correspond with one of the people in this table, please write their ID number in the appropriate space on your application form. Also, please download and read our pen-pal advice leaflet.

Thank you, thank you for the lovely surprise Birthday card received in prison this afternoon.

I am speechless, thankful, overjoyed and in 7th heaven with this beautiful Birthday card from all of you lovely people in London. It has brought tears of joy to my eyes and I'm VERY touched. It's the best birthday card I've ever had in all my seventy-two years of life.

I was feeling cut off, lonely, depressed and despondent, till your card arrived. Now life is worthwhile again.
