Our trustees
All of our trustees are unpaid volunteers. They come from different backgrounds and use their collective experience to set the strategic goals for the organisation.
From time to time we need to recruit new trustees. This is done via an open recruitment process - all vacancies will be displayed on this website.
Kevin Fitzgerald - Chair
Kevin is Chief Executive of the Copyright Licensing Agency, and was previously Managing Director at Rough Guides. Kevin has been the independent member of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s Public Diplomacy Partners group since 2004, and has also served on the FCO’s Consular Services Travel Advisory Review Group.
Kevin has been a trustee of Prisoners Abroad since January 2009.
John Hutchings OBE - Vice Chair
After over 20 years working for the Inner London Probation Service John moved to the Probation Inspectorate in the Home Office, retiring in 2006 as one of the Assistant Chief Inspectors
Since retiring he has continued to work as an independent consultant to the probation service, undertaking reviews and inquiries focusing on such issues as serious further offences committed by offenders under supervision, the investigation of complaints and disciplinary inquiries.
John has been a trustee of Prisoners Abroad since January 2009
Fiona Shaw - Treasurer
Fiona has a 20 year proven track record of high quality work across all areas of accounting. She is currently Head of Finance at Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor, and has previous experience as Head of Finance at Friends of the Earth, where she worked in the accounts team for more than 15 years. She qualified with the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.
