How to reflect on the past 6 months…?

Running, running and more running with a bit of yoga thrown in. As we arrive at the last week (involving more rest, eating and stretching than running!) I am proud of how far we have come.

Knowing that we are running to raise money to help prisoners overseas has really strengthened our willpower to get up for those early morning runs or classes. Working for Prisoners Abroad we get to see first-hand how much support and practical aid is needed for both prisoners and families dealing with overseas imprisonment. Those long runs are hard but then we get a letter like this from a prisoner overseas and it makes those blisters worth it:

" There have been days over the last 5 years where, hand on heart, I didn't think I'd make it and then BAM; I'd get a London evening Standard or a newsletter or more recently, a birthday card from Prisoners Abroad and that simple gesture would take the edge off the horror of my day. I can't begin to express my gratitude at the care and consideration you've shown me throughout this ordeal and I realise how incredibly lucky I am - you kept me lifted up. Thank you, thank you, thank you. "

Sunday is going to be tough but knowing that the money we are raising goes directly to help prisoners and their families have a chance to survive and rebuild their lives makes it all worthwhile.
