Are you a friendly, efficient English and French speaker looking for an exciting opportunity to join a charity making a real difference?

As a Caseworker at Prisoners Abroad, you are integral to the work of the Prisoner and Family Support Team.

Delivering a friendly and professional service, you will be the first point of contact for Britons arrested overseas and their families, who are often in distress. You will provide advice and information on foreign criminal justice systems, liaise with lawyers, prison authorities and consular officials, and monitor people’s well-being in order to provide appropriate practical and emotional support. You will also liaise with our resettlement team to assist prisoners with preparing for release.

With experience of advice work with prisoners / prisoners’ families or experience in a similar advice or information-giving capacity, you will have excellent recording and administrative skills to manage your caseload, the ability to communicate articulately and sensitively and be able to work well in a team. We are looking specifically for a French speaker to join the team at this time.

This post is offered as a fixed-term contract for one year in the first instance but, subject to funding, we hope to make it permanent.
