£29,023 per annum

London N4 (although it is expected to be mostly home-based during the current Covid-19 situation)

Prisoners Abroad is a unique welfare and human rights charity providing advice and support to people affected by overseas imprisonment. We help people during their incarceration, when they return to the UK and need resettlement services, and we also support their family and friends throughout the trauma.

Working with ex-offenders returning from prison overseas, you will use the experience you have gained in a work setting, and / or with a qualification in Social Work or other relevant qualification, to provide one-to-one support and advice to service users with complex needs. You will work with and advocate for returnees to access the support they need and signpost to other providers of specialist services e.g. medical and Universal Credit.

We are looking for someone with a real empathy for our work, who is an effective communicator, able to use creative problem-solving skills, and who will also enjoy working in a small team to deliver and develop our services.

This position is being offered on a one-year full-time contract and an enhanced DBS check is required for the successful candidate.

We offer 30 days’ annual leave a year and a 6.5% employer contributory pension. We are ‘usually’ based in a purpose-built office that is located a 3-minute walk from Finsbury Park Station (zone 2) which is 10 minutes from Oxford Circus and serviced by the Overground, Victoria & Piccadilly lines.
