Dame Harriet Walter, one of our esteemed Patrons, makes the BBC Radio 4 Appeal for our vital overseas work.

She shares the story of Sean, who was imprisoned in the Caribbean for fifteen years. Being in prison abroad can be terrifying; in addition to the isolation that stems from separation from family and friends, brutal conditions often threaten the life, dignity and health of the person imprisoned. Sean lacked access to proper food and water, becoming dangerously sick. But, with our help, he was able to purchase what he needed to survive and access urgent medical care.

Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated. We are thrilled that the appeal is being match-funded up to £50,000 by a very kind supporter, meaning anything you can give will automatically be worth double!

Listen to Dame Harriet tell us why she supports Prisoners Abroad and why she would love YOU, our community, to support this appeal:
