Prisoners Abroad's Annual Review (2020-21) Prisoners Abroad's Annual Review (2020-21) We faced unprecedented challenges in getting our services through to the people we help. By utilising the agility, expertise and capacity of our staff and volunteers along with the fantastic commitment of our service delivery partners, we were able to delivery almost all our services remotely. "Ahead we have a complex and challenging future - income to be regained, both service and fundraising events programmes to be re-established, face to face work with returnees and families to be resumed all at a time of the lingering effects of Covid-19." Prisoners Abroad's Annual Review (2019-20) Prisoners Abroad's Annual Review (2019-20) This financial year ended with the start of the Covid-19 worldwide pandemic, immediately changing our organisational landscape and environment. As our work operates globally, in over 90 countries, it was clear at an early stage that repercussions would be felt by many of the world's most vulnerable, and more specifically our service users; prisoners. In this review we showcase our three core services, bringing them to life with service user stories, and showing how we respond to need on a global scale. Finding A Way Through (2018-19) Finding A Way Through (2018-19) including our Financial Statements and Auditor's Reports Having been here to help people for the last 40 years, Prisoners Abroad is uniquely placed to understand the crisis that people go through and how to provide the help and support they need to make the experience bearable so that they can find a way of getting through it. This document explores our achievements and impact over the last year, with stories, stats and spotlight pages for you to understand the challenges people affected by overseas imprisonment face. We look at three other emotive stories of people affected by overseas imprisonment in prison, at home and once they have returned to the UK. Reducing Isolation and Combating Stigma (2015-16) Reducing Isolation and Combating Stigma (2015-16) Our most recent annual review focuses on isolation, something that has a detrimental effect on a person's emotional health, confidence and the ability to communicate. This publication tells stories of how isolation greatly affects people in prison overseas, and how with the right support this isolation can be reduced. You can read stories from people we have supported, like Gareth, Catherine, Genevieve and Kenisha. You can also read about developments and trends that have emerged for Prisoners Abroad over the last year. Protecting Human Rights, Saving Lives (2014-15) Protecting Human Rights, Saving Lives (2014-15) This year the annual review featured a collection of moving and inspirational stories from around the world. In conversation with prisoners and their families, four big issues emerged: fighting for survival; overcoming stigma; coping with loneliness and isolation; finding a home - a place to belong. Supporting, Protecting and Saving Lives (2013-14) Supporting, Protecting and Saving Lives (2013-14) In this review, you'll hear from Billy who survived awful conditions in prison in Thailand; read about how Prisoners Abroad supported Chrissie when her son was arrested and imprisoned in Spain; and discover the developments and growth that have occurred at Prisoners Abroad in the last year.
