How we help Prisoner and family support Family support and events Family Support Groups Family support groups offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you and other family members to talk about any problems you may be facing as a result of your relative’s imprisonment. They are held frequently in different cities in the UK, last for 2 hours and are run by a local experienced Prisoners Abroad volunteers. Refreshments are provided and travel costs can be reimbursed. You will be assured of a friendly welcome and the opportunity to talk to others in a supportive and confidential environment. When you come along, the only information that we ask you share with others is your first name. You can ask questions, talk to others or listen to other people’s experiences. Upcoming Family Support Groups: If you would like to attend a family support group, please contact Alan or Amber on 020 7561 6863 or email [email protected] People who attended a family support group said: Listening and talking about one’s predicament in a small group is like therapy, a problem shared is a problem halved, knowing you are not alone emotionally.
