Family support groups offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you and other family members to talk about any issues you may be facing as a result of your relative’s imprisonment. They are run by a local experienced Prisoners Abroad volunteer.

You will be assured of a friendly welcome and the opportunity to talk to others in a supportive and confidential environment.  When you come along, the only information that we ask you share with others is your first name. You can ask questions, talk to others or listen to other people's experiences.

From people who have attended groups:

Prisoners Abroad and the support groups are a major reason why I am “still standing” as this situation has been very traumatic

The group helps by making you realise you are not alone and other people are in the same predicament. That helps with the huge upheaval
