Family support groups offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you and other family members to talk about any problems you may be facing as a result of your relative’s imprisonment. They are held frequently in different cities in the UK, last for 2 hours and are run by a local experienced Prisoners Abroad volunteer. Refreshments are provided and travel or childcare costs can be reimbursed.

You will be assured of a friendly welcome and the opportunity to talk to others in a supportive and confidential environment.  When you come along, the only information that we ask you share with others is your first name. You can ask questions, talk to others or listen to other people’s experiences.

Listening and talking about one’s predicament in a small group is like therapy; a problem shared is a problem halved, knowing you are not alone emotionally.
